| AUGUSTUS WELLING |
I have an ancestor, Augustus WELLING, who married in Quebec City in
1785. All I know is that he was a German Soldier. The Archives in
Wolfenbuettel, Braunschweig told me that they have nothing on Augustus
Welling and that he might be from Hesse or Kassel. Virginia de Marce,
in her books, says that he was from Braunschweig... so I am lost!
Augustus was signing Augustus in around 1790 and later was signing
Augustin. Any help would be appreciated. Below is his family file:

(I wrote to Wolfenbuettel Stadt Archives and they have nothing about Augustus Welling beeing in a Brunswick regiment. They suggested that he might be from Hesse or Kassel)
